Communicable Disease

The Public Health Nurse coordinates the follow-up of all communicable diseases reported in Crawford County. Agency staff works to protect and preserve the health and safety of Crawford County citizens through investigation of diseases and community education. Case investigation involves talking with affected persons to figure out possible sources of infection and if spreading the disease is likely. Education about the specific infection/disease is also provided. Diseases may be reported by physicians, nurses, laboratories, and citizens.
